First Time
Your first time is special and exciting! Hahaha, no.
Upon arriving, new characters are given a small folded card by a guardian. Upon opening the card, they will be magically receive the following information:
Welcome to the Void, traveler. The Void is an infinite space that exists outside of space-time. Time does not pass in the conventional sense. The laws of physics only slightly apply. Things like breathing and eating are not required, although one may partake of them should they feel inclined to. Likewise, no one ages in the Void. A person can remain here for what feels like thousands of years without growing a second older.
Because of this, those who arrive need not worry about the passage of time outside the Void. When you return to their home, no time at all will have passed. If you arrived in the middle of speaking a sentence, then you shall return in the middle of the sentence and carry on. If you were being stabbed to death, then you shall return to being stabbed to death. Memories of the Void do not exist outside the Void, so it will seem as if you never left at all.
With that said, should a person return to the Void again, they will retain their previous memories of their visit. Memories of the Void only remain in the Void, but they will never leave the Void either. Even if you should develop amnesia and forget yourself in your home, you shall remember your experiences in the Void if your return.
Travel in the Void is facilitated through the use of gates. Large gates allow for travel between sectors, while small gates allow people to enter and leave the Void. The large gates are operated by guardians, and their operation can be controlled. Small gates appear randomly, and are the only way of leaving the Void. The appearance of small gates cannot be controlled, and who is taken by a small gate is left up to chance.
The Void is split into four sectors, named after colors.
The Red Sector is the entertainment district. There is a live-stage theater, a large library/coffee shop, and a bar. There also other buildings run by residents and guardians.
The Green Sector is the agriculture center of the Void. Although eating is not necessary, some still partake in consuming food for the pleasure aspect, and the Green Sector also produces all the alcohol and coffee that the Red Sector offers.
The Blue Sector is the residential district. The Hex is a tall, hexagonal shaped building that serves to house the residents of the Void. Each floor, except the first, has six suites. The Hex reaches all the way up to the disc. Residents may obtain a key from the first floor lobby by registering themselves in the housing database. The key is then used on an elevator that will take them up to their designated floor. Each suite is fully furnished, with one to two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, one to two bathrooms with showers and tubs, a study, and an empty room.
Finally, the Gray Sector is unstable, and advised against visiting. Once in the Gray Sector, one cannot leave until a small gate appears and either takes them home or moves them to another sector. Furthermore, the Gray Sector does not have a ground. While the other sectors have a permanent walkway floating above nothingness, the Gray Sector's ground randomly appears and disappears, meaning that it is possible to fall into the Void. You do not want to fall into the Void. While you cannot die, it is quite possible that you will never stop falling.
Those who "die" or fall off the ground in any of the other sectors will always appear in the Gray Sector. It is highly recommended to avoid this fate by all means.
There is no use for currency, although favors and goods may be traded. Please talk the owners of each establishment to determine how to obtain them.
Further questions may be directed to the guardians: They are either long-term visitors or permanent residents who have taken it upon themselves to help newcomers. They can be distinguished through their gold badges.
